IBM Netezza Wins 2011 Stevie Award for International Support Department of the Year

October 13, 2011

First and foremost, we like to focus on our customers success at IBM Netezza, but it's also gratifying to receive recognition from our peers in the business world. This week I traveled to Abu Dhabi for the Eighth Annual International Business Awards, where IBM Netezza was honored with a Stevie Award for International Support Department of the Year.  We also received four distinguished honoree awards in Customer Support categories. As you can see from the picture, it was a bit of a challenge packing all of these awards for the trip home to Boston!

The mission of the International Business Awards “is to raise the profile of exemplary organizations and individuals among the press, the business community and the general public.” It's the third year in a row that we've received top honors in International Business and American Business Award having been named International Customer Support Department of the Year in 2009 and 2010.

There was amazing global participation at this year's event, with 36 countries represented. Shiekha Lubna Al Qasimi, the minister for Foreign Trade  United Arab Emirates presented the awards to the winners. At my table alone there were winners from Turkey, Philippines, United Arab Emirates and Japan. Competition was steepest in the Customer Service and Customer Support categories according to Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards who ran the event. Judging of The International Business Awards is conducted in two phases, preliminary and final. The preliminary stage is conducted by professionals around the world, while final judging is conducted by members of specialized committees.

Kudos to our amazing team of dedicated support professionals whose exemplary work on a day-to-day basis adds up to best-in-the-world performance!
